Classical & Period Designs
Our collection features designs rooted in historical tradition. The Lutyens bench, named after architect Edwin Lutyens, showcases the distinctive curved arms and scrolled back typical of his Arts and Crafts gardens. The Chippendale bench draws on 18th-century furniture design, characterised by intricate back detailing and elegant proportions.
The Hestercombe design references Edwardian garden architecture, while the Barrington offers simplified lines suitable for both period and modern settings. Each wooden garden bench is handcrafted using traditional joinery techniques, ensuring durability and structural integrity.
Streamlined & Considered Designs
The Hurlingham and Serpentine benches take a cleaner, less ornate approach, with restrained detailing and considered proportions that sit comfortably in both traditional and contemporary garden settings.
For outdoor dining and entertaining, our Picnic Bench is a practical, straightforward solution that combines a table and seating in a single structure. Built using the same traditional joinery techniques as our other designs, it can be produced to your specific dimensions and requirements.
Tree Seats & Circular Seating
A tree seat encircles the trunk of an established tree, forming a circular bench that provides seating while maintaining the tree as a central feature. This arrangement works particularly well beneath specimen trees on lawns or within courtyards, allowing multiple people to gather in the shade.
Each tree seat is custom-made, designed to fit the tree’s diameter and accommodate growth. The structure is assembled in sections around the trunk, with careful attention to drainage and air circulation to protect the tree’s root system.
Timber Selection
& Carving Service
We work with a variety of sustainably sourced timbers, including iroko, oak and cedar for natural finishes, or Accoya and Sapele for painted finishes. Each hardwood bench is built to withstand constant weather exposure while maintaining its structural integrity over many years.
We provide a carving service with all our products, allowing you to commemorate individuals, events, or significant dates. Carving is applied during production, ensuring clean, permanent lettering that ages naturally with the timber. For those needing bespoke garden benches tailored to specific dimensions or design preferences, our team can create unique solutions suited to your garden.
