Timber Selection & Traditional Construction
We work with a variety of sustainably sourced timbers, including iroko, oak, and cedar for natural finishes, or Accoya and Sapele when painted finishes are preferred. The choice of timber depends on the bridge’s location, expected use, and the finish you desire.
Traditional mortise and tenon construction ensures every joint is secure and durable. Handrails, decking, and structural members are all carefully fitted and finished by hand. The result is a bridge that will serve its purpose for decades, weathering gracefully and requiring only minimal maintenance.
